The month of October makes you not only think about getting that pumpkin spice latte, but of course, some pumpkins to decorate your home! In Oregon, we have so many local pumpkin patches to choose from. When it’s pumpkin time, it’s sometimes difficult to decide. From decorative gourds to pumpkins that weigh over 40 lbs, there’s tons of variety. Pumpkins are fun to carve or just leave how they are up until Thanksgiving arrives. Sometimes it’s even fun to take the seeds out and bake them in the oven to eat. The color orange just seems to say “fall is here.” What types of autumn decorations do use around your home?

If you’re thinking of an all-day family affair, then Bauman’s Farm and Garden may be just the place you’re looking for. They have an assortment of different activities for the Harvest Festival including a petting zoo, bug train, hayride, and more. If you’re looking for a smaller venue, then venturing to Fordyce Farm is the perfect place to visit for pumpkins. You can also peruse the store for some delicious baked goods and produce. Or, there’s always the tucked-away farm stands that grace our lovely Willamette Valley landscape. The Red Wagon Farm is a great place to pick up some pumpkins as well as your favorite lavender-scented items.
We are so thankful to be a part of the Willamette Valley, and this October we’re also having our annual Photo Contest for Best Costume!
