Haunted Houses

Halloween is nigh. Key in the sound of Vincent Price’s voice to deliver the fright you may want to encounter one of these October nights! For those brave souls, there are many haunted houses to choose from in the area. If you’re more of a pumpkin patch and corn maze sort of person, then there are plenty of those as well. For now, the focus will be on eerie and scary haunted houses out there to visit. Make sure to bring a friend with you, just in case you need some extra courage by your side. Because, you’re in for a wild and ghoulish ride!

Haunted Houses

Near Silverton is the Silver Crest Haunted House open on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a choice of a full haunted tour or kids haunt tour. In Salem, there is the legendary Nightmare Factory that is bound to leave you quivering a bit. It’s located at the Oregon School for the Deaf and is also a fundraiser for it as well. So, if you’re looking to get your scare on and also support community, then this may the place to go! Meandering toward Hubbard there is also the notorious Milburn’s Haunted Manor that will surely have you thinking twice on whether you’d like a trick or a treat. There are different tours to choose from as well as an opportunity to go pumpkin patch perusing. 

If you’re near Canby, then Creatures of the Night may be an option for you. Storytelling and connecting community and families “through a feeling of wonder and trepidation,” are what they are about. A lot of the haunted houses are supported by volunteers. So, if you’re interested in not only being a visitor, but also a participant in making a Halloween atmosphere come to life, then you’re in luck. Make sure to check the haunted house websites before you go, since there may be requirements that are important to take into consideration. Or, sometimes they sell out.
