Dolly Parton Imagination Library

It’s National Library Week and there are so many ways to celebrate it. Showing support by visiting your local library and thanking the staff is one way. In addition to this, typically libraries have a way to donate books. That’s a wonderful way to give back to such a vital community resource like a library. At BST Realty LLC, we are involved with the Silverton Kiwanis Club’s efforts to promote the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. It’s a brilliant program that provides books to children from birth to preschool. If you have a kiddo or know of someone who does that is before preschool age, then this would be a great program to consider getting enrolled in.

The Wonder of Reading

Books have a way of expanding horizons. There are adventures to be discovered with every turning page. Some grandparents have gotten very good at theatrical displays when reading to their grandkiddos. There are even other ways of connecting with family. For example, making a recording of the book you want to read to a child, and then sending that book as a gift so they may follow along. You may also notice Little Libraries in your neighborhood. These are great resources to check-out and also give back to as well. And, sometimes it’s a fun way to see what the neighborhood’s interests are. Perhaps there is a book on Thai cuisine or a few on the shelf with the latest mysteries. Of course, there is always a good bedtime story, too.

You may also notice the natural way kids huddle around the reader of the book. It’s such a natural thing. However you may experience books, libraries are usually the entryway into this magical exploration. We are so lucky to have libraries in many shapes and forms all around us. We hope you have a wonderful week and keep enjoying the wonder that libraries offer our community!
