The 4th of July is coming up before you know it! It’s also known as Independence Day and became a federal holiday in 1941. So, we’ve been officially celebrating it in many ways since then. With it being summer out, there are also lots of activities to enjoy in Oregon. From going to the rodeo to attending your friend’s annual bbq, there is a good amount to choose from! If you’re still thinking about how you may celebrate it, here are some ideas that may spark your interest.
On the 3rd of July at the Oregon Garden in Silverton, you can enjoy live music, face painting, and tasty food and drink. St. Paul has lots of things going on. Including a rodeo, an Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration, and even a marathon. So, whether you’re into seeing some horses and entertainment or like the sport of running, there is a lot going on! And, of course, it’s a great way to see the beloved Champoeg State Park as well. If you find yourself in the area of Molalla, then there is also another fun rodeo that you could attend, too. If music is more your jam, and you’re in the Salem area, then the Infinity Room has Faun Fables playing. Now, of course, there are the fireworks displays.
In Mount Angel, you have the 4th of July Parade and Firework Show. And, Portland Monthly also provides more lists of places to experience fireworks and have fun! Fireworks can also be alarming to some. So, please be mindful of people who may not want to be involved in seeing the fireworks displays. Please show a bit of respect and give them space if they need it. There are also our furry friends who may have difficulties with fireworks. So, please be aware of that as well. Remember, throughout the summer, there are other great activities to partake in, too. We are all about supporting community and there are so many local businesses providing amazing services for the holiday. We hope that whatever you are doing that you’re safe and having fun! Happy 4th of July!
